A Place In The Clouds

In northern Vermont is the former Lyndonville Air Force Station. It’s by far the most breathtaking site that I have visited. It sits atop one of the highest points in Vermont and until its closure in 1962 it was an early warning radar base. After its closure it was sold to a private individual and most of the structures remain intact. Working up the guts to climb the radar towers for some of the elevated views was a bit of a challenge. But, thanks to the encouragement, and lack of a fear of heights of the two friends whom I was traveling with, I got up there.
